Duquesne University implementing mid-year budget cuts - Bill Schackner, Post-Gazette

Responding to an unspecified enrollment decline, Duquesne University has implemented a mid-year 5 percent budget cut by campus division, leaving it to vice presidents, deans, faculty and staff in affected areas to determine where to focus reductions. The decreases are in areas other than workforce, according to a statement from Matt Frist, recently named vice president-elect for management and business. Mr. Frist was not available Monday for comment. A written statement from him provided by Duquesne did not specify beyond saying the university had a “specific goal of minimizing the impact on academic programs and the Duquesne student experience . . .’’ http://www.post-gazette.com/news/2016/02/09/Duquesne-University-implementing-mid-year-budget-cuts/stories/201602090094
