Budget committee rejects Rowden effort to restore University of Missouri cuts - RUDI KELLER, Columbia Daily Tribune

The Missouri state budget headed to the floor of the Missouri House will include a $7.6 million cut to the University of Missouri System administration, a move interim President Mike Middleton on Wednesday said is unnecessary and likely to impose additional costs on the four campuses. The House Budget Committee voted 11-15 Tuesday against an effort by state Rep. Caleb Rowden, R-Columbia, to restore half of the cut and then voted 20-5 on Wednesday morning to approve the appropriation bill that includes the university’s budget. Rowden was the only Republican to vote against the bill Wednesday. http://www.columbiatribune.com/news/education/turmoil_at_mu/budget-committee-rejects-rowden-effort-to-restore-university-of-missouri/article_b93efc3e-6f4b-5ce6-b47e-8ecdade4cd08.html
