Heartland starts FY17 budget work without FY16 funding - Lenore Sobota, Pantagraph

Heartland Community College is continuing to watch its expenses and wait for movement in Springfield on the fiscal year 2016 state budget at the same time the college is beginning work on its FY17 budget. Meeting at the college's Lincoln center on Tuesday, the board was told by Doug Minter, vice president of business services, there is a continuing trend for a deficit when the fiscal year ends June 30 if the district receives no state funding. President Rob Widmer, talking about the budget situation on Wednesday, did not sound hopeful that state officials would resolve the issue any time soon. http://www.pantagraph.com/business/heartland-starts-fy-budget-work-without-fy-funding/article_c4942274-0e1f-5831-98fe-793387c033e5.html
