Lone Star College to focus on career training - Bryan Kirk, Houston Chronicle

The goal of the Process Technology Center will be to prepare students for a career in petrochemical plants and refineries as process technicians and operators, research technicians, or laboratory technicians. Stitt says the center will also offer students a Process Technology Associate of Applied Science degree and certificate. These programs will be expanded as part of this center, which will include large lab equipment for operating with fluids, pumps, and high pressure pipelines and controls. "We have had a lot of support from surrounding community colleges," Stitt said. "Our first class will open with a class of 20 (students)." Lone Star College offers related programs, such as training as an Automated Manufacturing Technician with an Associates of Applied Science degree and a certificate, and a Solid Works Designer certificate. http://www.chron.com/neighborhood/kingwood/news/article/Lone-Star-College-to-focus-on-career-training-6879270.php
