Harper College to lay off 29 employees, eliminate dozens more jobs - Tony Briscoe, Chicago Tribune

After months without state aid, Harper College in Palatine announced it will lay off 29 employees. As Illinois' budget impasse nears the 10-month mark, leaving some public colleges and universities struggling to get by without state funding, a northwest suburban community college has become the latest school to announce layoffs as a cost-saving measure. Harper College in Palatine said Thursday it plans to eliminate 62 full- and part-time positions and lay off 19 full-time and 10 part-time employees effective June 30. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/ct-harper-college-cuts-met-20160331-story.html
