Illinois community college students may not continue schooling due to budget impasse - Joseph Edwards, WREX

Leaders say there needs to be a budget in place to fix these problems, and Illinois Community College Board member Dr. Laz Lopez says the sooner the better. "Students are making decisions today. This is April, they're making decisions for the fall today. We can't wait for June to solve this, or July or August," Dr. Lopez said. "That's too late. We need to solve this now, because students are making college decisions for the fall today." Low income students are still missing MAP Grant funding, and fewer schools are offering to float the grant money for those students to attend college. http://www.wrex.com/story/31660131/2016/04/06/illinois-community-college-students-may-not-continue-schooling-due-to-budget-impasse
