Louisiana budget crisis puts pressure on private universities too - Julia O'Donoghue, the Times-Picayune

There has been a lot of talk about what the budget crisis means for Louisiana's public colleges and universities. But the state's latest budget crisis has affected Louisiana's private universities as well, including five schools located in New Orleans. Tax changes made last month will make it more expensive for Louisiana's private universities to purchase everything from paper to lab equipment over the next two years. Students will also be paying more for meals and sports tickets at the school. And the pending changes to the TOPS college scholarship program could also affect private universities, albeit not as dramatically as some of their public counterparts. http://www.nola.com/politics/index.ssf/2016/04/louisiana_budget_crisis_puts_p.html
