LSSU seeking to cut $2M - Phil Wenzel, Soo Evening News

Lake Superior State University administrators are looking for ways to cut $2 million from the university’s 2016-17 general fund budget. During a lengthy discussion at LSSU’s Board of Trustees meeting Friday, Interim Vice-President for Finance Morrie Walworth said projections show the university with around $36 million in general fund revenue for the upcoming fiscal year, which begins on July 1. That is about $2.5 million below initial projections for 2015-16. But as 2015-16 moved along, administrators had to adjust revenues down by about $2 million — a move Walworth attributed largely to declining student enrollment. http://www.sooeveningnews.com/article/20160429/NEWS/160428581
