Mansfield University Announces Budget Shortfall, Layoffs Coming - Amy Simpson, WETM

Mansfield University officials say there will be layoffs and other steps taken to deal with financial difficulties. The University says it is facing funding shortfalls and structural deficits they estimate would total over $5 million dollars in the next school year and if unchecked over $10 million dollars through 2018. To address the problem, the University will continue to use reserves and make operational efficiencies, as it did this year, but there will now also have to be employee furloughs. No numbers on the furloughs have been determined yet. http://www.mytwintiers.com/news/local-news/mansfield-university-announces-budget-shortfall-layoffs-coming
