Morehead State University budget recommendation includes laying off 30 people - MORGAN EADS, Herald-Leader

Morehead State University announced budget recommendations, including the elimination of 64 positions, in an email to faculty and staff Thursday. The cuts are in response to a budget deficit of more than $9.7 million, university President Wayne D. Andrews said in the email. The deficit was brought on, in part, by declining enrollment and the 4.5 percent state funding cut in Gov. Matt Bevin’s budget. Of the 64 positions proposed to be eliminated, 24 are filled staff positions, 20 are vacant staff positions, 10 are vacant instructor positions, six are filled instructor positions, and four are vacant tenure or tenure-track faculty positions, according to the email. http://www.kentucky.com/news/state/article75962962.html
