Lake Land College ponders layoffs, ROB STROUD, Lee News Service

The Lake Land College Board of Trustees on Monday will consider cutting four employees from the college's workforce as part of preparing a balanced 2016-17 budget with reduced state funding. College President Josh Bullock said, in a press release, that a "significant reduction" in state funding for community colleges in fiscal year 2015-16 and an "uncertain future" for the 2016-17 state budget have necessitated that Lake Land reduce staffing levels. Lake Land's budget adjustment plan for 2016-17 consists of eliminating the positions of director of facilities planning, community and professional programs coordinator, and Center for Technology and Professional Development audio/visual technical assistant. This plan also calls for laying off a work force development specialist. http://herald-review.com/news/local/state-and-regional/lake-land-college-ponders-layoffs/article_8fe43bec-eb74-562d-b02a-89e8d62b7da4.html
