Delta College trustees keep services, programs intact in 2016-17 budget - Jon Becker, the Daily News

The Delta College Board of Trustees on Tuesday adopted a 2016 budget that keeps all services and programs intact despite ongoing revenue challenges. The college’s new overall budget of $107.3 million, with $66.8 million in the general fund, reflects spending reductions totaling $1.5 million. Curbing costs and carefully aligning resources with key college initiatives has been part of Delta’s budgeting process for the past decade, officials said. The total budget is down 4 percent from last year and the general fund budget is up 2 percent, said Deb Lutz, vice president of business and finance. “Over the last 10 years we’ve seen a trend: More reliance on tuition and fees and less reliance on property taxes because they and state funding have not kept pace with inflation,” she told trustees during their dinner meeting. http://www.ourmidland.com/news/delta-college-trustees-keep-services-programs-intact-in--/article_4d5270a8-50c2-5f13-a73f-f431c29667ec.html
