NIU's Baker: Recruiting and keeping students a top priority - RHONDA GILLESPIE, Daily Chronicle

Student enrollment and retention at Northern Illinois University, along with the school’s fiscal outlook, were the focus of the president’s presentation Thursday during a town hall meeting with students and other stakeholders. “It’s critically important for the institution, as a whole, to know where we’re going and be able to dovetail and help move that effort forward,” NIU President Doug Baker said, explaining the purpose of the forums. He and members of his cabinet addressed a crowd that filled the Regency Room at the Holmes Student Center. In addition to his talk about enrollment, recruitment and finances, Provost Lisa Freeman discussed the university’s program prioritization effort. http://www.daily-chronicle.com/2016/09/22/nius-baker-recruiting-and-keeping-students-a-top-priority/a7gbjnd/
