WNMU will be hurt by cuts - Benjamin Fisher, Silver City Press

An introduced amendment to a Senate budget bill of cuts to government agencies would mean deeper cuts to nearly every state agency and would hit one of Grant County’s biggest employers hardest — Western New Mexico University. The amendment increases cuts to universities across the state from 5 percent to 6, a difference of over $200,000 a year to WNMU. The House Appropriations and Finance Committee did withdraw the amendment following lengthy discussions in a meeting on Sunday to rework pieces that were problematic for some representatives. http://www.scdailypress.com/site/2016/10/03/wnmu-will-be-hurt-by-cuts/
