$1.5M budget cut for NMHU - Martin Salazar, Las Vegas Optic

New Mexico Highlands University’s finance vice president told regents last Friday that solvency measures enacted by state lawmakers and the governor will result in a roughly $1.5 million cut in Highlands’ state appropriation. For now, he said, he thinks the university will be able to absorb that cut without laying off staff. But he warned that any additional funding decreases would likely force the university to “hit staff.”
