Dozens Protesting On University Of Illinois Campus For A State Budget - EM NGUYEN, Fox Illinois

Illinois is going into its second year without a state budget, leaving universities across the state executing major budget and staff cuts. Dozens were gathering at the University of Illinois Wednesday evening, protesting, and urging lawmakers to pass state funding. After 17 months without any state funding, local organizations say it’s time to make a change. Kassie Beyer, rally organizer from the Central Illinois Jobs for Justice, said this is an active message to legislatures to pass a full budget in a veto session. "It was important for Job with Justice to be organizing all across the state,” Beyer said. “We need to be activating people everywhere and push back against a regressive agenda." http://foxillinois.com/news/local/dozens-protesting-on-university-of-illinois-campus-for-a-state-budget
