Quincy University cuts 14 jobs as it faces $5M budget hole - Associated Press

Quincy University in western Illinois has cut 14 non-faculty positions in an effort to fix a $5 million budget shortfall. The cuts are the first part of a three-phase, five-year recovery plan. The schools’s financial consultant, Tom Ponto, says the goal is to return the private Catholic liberal arts university to “financial equilibrium.” Ponto says “more positions will be impacted.” He says all areas of the university will be impacted including sports, academics and administration.
