Eastern Illinois University president encourages students to remain in state - Bill Grimes, Daily News

Eastern Illinois University president David Glassman shared a number of thoughts with local business leaders at the First Friday luncheon. The way to plug the "brain drain" in Illinois is by inducing more area residents to attend an in-state college or university, Eastern Illinois University President David Glassman told local business leaders on Friday. "Ten thousand people per month are leaving Illinois to work in other states, and there's a net deficit of 16,000 new high school graduates attending college outside Illinois," Glassman said. "Many of those students will not return to Illinois." http://www.effinghamdailynews.com/news/local_news/eastern-illinois-university-president-encourages-students-to-remain-in-state/article_307c1c74-295b-56d8-8ee6-30817cdd7be2.html
