UT's MD Anderson Cancer Center to Layoff 800 - Rice Sabriya Rice, Dallas News

The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston announced Thursday that it will reduce payroll by about 1,000 people to save $120 million, according to a report from the Houston Chronicle. The reduction will include between 800 to 900 staff, but doctors and clinical-care nurses will not be affected, the report said. The remaining 100 to 200 cuts will result through attrition and retirement, and affect managerial, leadership and VP roles, the Houston Business Journal reported. All of the affected positions are in Houston. http://www.dallasnews.com/business/health-care/2017/01/05/renowned-cancer-center-houston-layoff-800-people-amid-financial-woes
