BGSU board boosts meal, housing rates University semesters also shortened by a week to 15 - Nolan Rosenkrans, Toledo Blade

The average room rate on campus will increase 2.1 percent; a standard double room will increase 2.4 percent, and will cost a student $2,790 per semester, which is a $65 increase. Meanwhile, meal plan rates will increase 3 percent, with a bronze plan costing students $1,669, a $49 increase. The combined increases will cost a student about $230 a year, meaning that, absent any increases to tuition or the general fee, an undergrad will pay $19,508 a year to attend BGSU and live on campus. The board also voted to shift from 16-week semesters to 15 weeks, effective in the fall of 2018. It’s a move that mirrors one made by the University of Toledo in December. https://www.toledoblade.com/Education/2017/02/18/BGSU-board-boosts-meal-housing-rates.html
