California college tuition hikes more likely under Gov. Brown’s new budget plan - Andrew Edwards, LA Daily

The first version of Gov. Jerry Brown’s spending proposals for the next fiscal year appear to increase the probability that Cal State University trustees will raise tuition within the coming months. The governor’s initial budget plan may also create challenges for the CSU’s ambitious new strategy for increasing graduation rates, as well as the prospect of increasing enrollment within the system’s 23 campuses. Such may be the case despite the fact that Brown’s proposal would increase the CSU’s funding level by about $157 million, compared with current year funding, according to the university’s presentation of the numbers. http://www.dailynews.com/social-affairs/20170114/california-college-tuition-hikes-more-likely-under-gov-browns-new-budget-plan
