University of Missouri laying off 25 employees to save about $1.7 million - Mara Rose Williams, Kansas City Star

In an effort to cut $40 million in state funding and proposed funding cuts, the University of Missouri is eliminating about 25 jobs. All the jobs lost will come from the university’s division of operations and impact people at the administrative level, but “this does not mean there will not be additional cuts like this in the future,” said MU spokesman Christian Basi. MU will lay off 20 administrative employees effective July 1. Five other employees are retiring and those jobs will not be filled.
