College tuition climbs higher in Nebraska and Iowa amid funding cuts - Rick Ruggles, World-Herald

Tuition is almost certain to rise at public colleges and universities in the region and already has at some. The University of Nebraska Board of Regents is expected to approve some level of tuition increase Thursday in Lincoln. The three colleges in the Nebraska State College System will consider increases at their June 15-16 meeting in Chadron. And Nebraska’s two-year colleges already have approved increases for the coming school year. Although tuition typically rises, additional pressure has been placed on public institutions in Nebraska and Iowa for the 2017-18 school year because state money to higher education has declined in both states. That generally means balancing losses with tuition revenue. http://www.omaha.com/news/education/college-tuition-climbs-higher-in-nebraska-and-iowa-amid-funding/article_dda0617c-3650-51fd-ad6e-f5bf2dab6a26.html
