University of North Dakota extends buyout deadline - Andrew Haffner, Forum News Service

The finalization of a series of University of North Dakota employee buyouts and phase-downs initially scheduled for an early May completion has been pushed back into next month. Pat Hanson, UND’s director of human resources, said some faculty and staff who have already been approved to take voluntary or phased resignation plans now have an extended window to accept their offers through the end of the first week of July. A total of 119 UND employees applied for the separation program, which was announced in January as university leaders considered looming budget reductions. By the end of the most recent legislative session in May, UND had realized a biennial cut of about $32 million in state-appropriated general funding. http://bismarcktribune.com/news/state-and-regional/university-of-north-dakota-extends-buyout-deadline/article_817858ef-983b-59fc-914a-d059543e5c01.html
