CHANGES AT SNC TAHOE - Sierra Nevada

In today’s evolving higher education environment, Sierra Nevada College recognizes the need to adapt to change. To address budgetary challenges, the college last week reduced its baseline budget and eliminated faculty and staff positions. The decision to take this action came after much discussion about our financial health, academic mission, and long-term sustainability. Those positions eliminated have been held by teachers of the highest caliber and integrity, and the college wishes them well in the future. Like many small liberal arts colleges with limited endowments, SNC Tahoe depends on tuition. And, with fewer students graduating from high school annually and a strong national emphasis on workforce preparedness, enrollment and recruiting have become more challenging.
