FAU faces over $5 million in state budget cuts - Nate Nkumbu and Kerri-Marie Covington, UPressOnline

Thanks to Gov. Rick Scott, $10.7 million was cut from Palm Beach County’s budget on June 2, with FAU hit the hardest. A collective $5.3 million, which was allocated to various university projects, was cut according to myPalmBeachPost. The governor’s spending plan veto cut $2 million for a drug research partnership with The Scripps Research Institute, $1.1 million for a scientific fellowship program at the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience and $1 million for the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College.
