Marshall, Mountwest officials plan around state budget cuts - LACIE PIERSON, Herald-Dispatch

More than $3.2 million in cuts from the state of West Virginia will have administrators at Marshall University and Mountwest Community and Technical College initiating different plans to absorb them heading into fiscal year 2018. On Wednesday, West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice said he would allow the state's budget to become law without his signature, and that budget is heavily balanced by cuts to higher education institutions throughout West Virginia. West Virginia's budget will cut 2.4 percent for four-year public higher education institutions, with the exception of Shepherd University. Marshall and West Virginia University were cut 6.4 percent each. http://www.herald-dispatch.com/news/marshall-mountwest-officials-plan-around-state-budget-cuts/article_71cc4b88-ea8b-5c5e-ac54-98f0cfcee2e5.html
