Northeast State eliminates 28 non-faculty, full-time positions - News Channel 11

Northeast State Community College is eliminating 28 non-faculty and full-time positions as part of a plan to balance the 2017 – 2018 budget. Also, 19, part-time and full-time temporary positions will not be renewed and six vacant full-time faculty and staff positions will not be filled. Northeast State says the employee reductions will reduce the 2017-18 budget by about $2.2 million. The college employs about 400 people. The 2017-18 budget began July 1 and includes reductions in the school’s operations, travel and equipment budgets. Northeast State says, “The overall proposal would cut roughly $5 million to balance the College’s budget.” http://wjhl.com/2017/07/31/northeast-state-to-eliminate-28-non-faculty-full-time-positions/
