Our opinion: College spending doesn’t decrease again - Daily Comet

Louisiana’s students could be in line to get some relief. After years of repeated cuts to the state’s spending on its colleges and universities, there are some signs that the trend might at least be slowing. This year, state lawmakers made sure that the budget fully paid for the Taylor Opportunity Program for Students. And, as importantly, didn’t cut spending on higher education. For nearly a decade, lawmakers and governors have time and again cut money from colleges when they were faced with budget crises.
