University of Montana is offering buy-outs to non-faculty employees - KXLH

The University of Montana is offering more buyouts in an effort to cut down on personnel costs but this time the severance packages would impact non-faculty employees. UM Interim President Sheila Stearns met with eligible employees at two campus meetings to discuss the buyouts on Wednesday. “What we’re trying to do is try to offer something that attractive and compassionate to our employees. We recognize it’s not perfect by any means, but it’s better than not doing anything," UM Vice President for Administration and Finance Rosi Keller said. The voluntary severance offer is available to non-faculty employees, which only include full-time administrative, contract professionals and classified staff. Employees eligible have had to work for a continuous two years for UM and receive their salary from the State General Fund. http://www.kxlh.com/story/36638825/university-of-montana-is-offering-buy-outs-to-non-faculty-employees
