While budget impasse continues, Barron urges again for action from Penn State community - Cissy Ming, The Collegian

On Thursday, Penn State President Eric J. Barron renewed his request for students, faculty, parents and alumni to contact their state legislators in hopes of guaranteeing Penn State’s $318.2 million in state funds. Because of the state’s current budget deficit and disagreements with the governor, the legislature failed to pass appropriations funding state-related institutions by its July deadline. Balancing the state budget may result in a reduction or elimination of funds for Penn State and other universities in the state system. According to Barron, the possibility of losing money from the state threatens Penn State’s mission. http://www.collegian.psu.edu/news/campus/article_c6ece4a6-af87-11e7-9b3a-eb168fbb99d2.html
