UA president plans for post-cuts future - Erin Granger, News-Miner

University of Alaska President Jim Johnsen said he has high hopes for the future as his plan to streamline university functions nears the end of its third and final phase. Strategic Pathways, created at the beginning of 2016, was designed to mitigate a series of annual budget cuts handed down from the Legislature. Phase three of the streamlining plan examined administrative processes, mine training, natural and social sciences, and arts and humanities. Johnsen said he will present his recommendations for changes in those areas to the UA Board of Regents at their next meeting Thursday and Friday in Anchorage. http://www.newsminer.com/news/local_news/ua-president-plans-for-post-cuts-future/article_034c35a4-c13b-11e7-9a27-43a507d867d9.html
