It’s in the Budget: KSU makes case for its slice of the Kentucky state budget - Alfred Miller, the State Journal
As the 2018 legislative session approaches, Kentucky State University is girding itself to fight for its portion of the 2018-20 state budget. “Let’s just call it like it is,” Regent Paul Harnice told his colleagues upon hearing that the university would need an additional $1.4 million next year to cover rising contributions to the public pension systems. “This is going to be bad; this is going to be hard.” Last month, the school submitted to state Budget Director John Chilton its biennial budget request, which KSU President M. Christopher Brown II described as largely similar to those of previous years.
