UM continues work to fill $600,000 shortfall for athletic scholarships - McKayla Haack, NBC Montana

The University of Montana’s athletic department reported a $600,000 hole in its athletic scholarship fund on Nov. 16. NBC Montana sat down with Ryan Martin, the associate athletic director for business operations, to learn more about what the shortfall means for future student athletes and how the athletic scholarship funds are distributed. "As out-of-state tuition has risen and with the addition of softball we've seen scholarship costs go up," said Martin. Martin explained athletic scholarships at the university come from three sources: general fund money from the university, the Grizzly Scholarship Association and privately donated endowments. http://www.nbcmontana.com/news/keci/um-continues-work-to-fill-600000-shortfall-for-athletic-scholarships/664239870
