Eastern Mennonite University reducing faculty over budget challenges - Marina Barnett, WHSV

Eastern Mennonite University will be making some changes because of budget challenges and lower enrollment than years past. EMU's Provost, Fred Kniss, said the university has not been able to maintain a proper student-to-faculty ratio for some time. The school plans to also to drop its Philosophy and Theology major, but will keep its Philosophy minor available. Kniss said this was a decision made with administration and faculty working together. He said there is a drop in revenue due to enrollment, but increases in the cost of education, which has put a strain on the university. Kniss told WHSV more efforts are going into majors with a high-demand in the work force. http://www.whsv.com/content/news/EMU-to-reduce-faculty--465809183.html
