Keene State introduces new academic programming, continues to try to stabilize finances - Meg McIntyre Sentinel

In an all-campus meeting Wednesday morning, Interim President Melinda Treadwell announced the addition of a new construction safety sciences program to the college’s academic offerings, a new sustainability minor, a new public health program and changes to the computer science program. The college has been holding meetings for faculty and staff once a month since the school year began to encourage openness and transparency during a period of transition for the college, she said. Keene State has been tackling budget and enrollment challenges, with a 29 percent decline in enrollment over the past five years, according to Treadwell. The college also began this school year without finalized department budgets, and released a finalized budget in mid-September after $7.5 million in cuts. http://www.sentinelsource.com/news/local/keene-state-introduces-new-academic-programming-continues-to-try-to/article_49525c5c-cdd6-56cc-b2d1-e7dfde784fe3.html
