N.Y. community colleges would take hit under Cuomo budget - Bethany Bump, Times-Union

State university leaders and higher education advocates are warning that New York's community colleges may be forced to raise tuition or make cuts under Gov. Andrew Cuomo's proposed 2019 budget. The budget proposal would cut state aid to SUNY community colleges by 6.8 percent or $33.9 million in the upcoming academic year, shrinking overall aid to $465 million. The cuts, the governor's office says, are largely due to declining full-time enrollments, which are used to calculate state aid. https://www.timesunion.com/7dayarchive/article/N-Y-community-colleges-would-take-hit-under-12519206.php
