As part of Manitoba’s $17.4 billion budget for the 2018/19 fiscal year, unveiled March 12, support for post-secondary institutions will be cut by 0.9 per cent, or $6.3 million – an equivalent of about $8 per month per student. The government has asked post-secondary institutions to make up the funding reduction through other forms of revenue, including tuition increases.
