Christopher Newport University’s Board of Visitors will meet later this month to consider raising tuition and fees up to 10 percent. State code that went into effect July 1, 2017, now requires public colleges and universities to announce the range of percentages it is considering to raise tuition and mandatory fees. The law also says that an explanation for why the increases are being considered. The notice must be posted at least 30 days before the planned vote on the increases, and the date and location of the meeting also must be listed. CNU’s possible range is 6 to 10 percent, and the notice says it is being considered for both in-state and out-of-state undergraduate and graduate students. http://www.dailypress.com/news/education/dp-nws-cnu-tuition-increase-2018-story.html
