In face of looming deficits, University of Northern Colorado’s credit rating downgraded - Tommy Wood, Greeley Tribune

The University of Northern Colorado's credit rating was downgraded Wednesday by Moody's Investor Service, UNC's accrediting agency. Moody's dropped the university from an A2 rating to an A3, which qualifies as an "upper medium" grade and is still considered investment-worthy. "The outlook on the underlying ratings has been revised from stable to negative," Moody's announcement reads. The downgrade comes as UNC faces a projected $5.4 million deficit for the 2018-19 school year. To attempt to mitigate that, the university has implemented short-term money-saving strategies like a hiring freeze, limits on staff and administrative travel and cuts to its strategic investments. https://www.greeleytribune.com/news/in-face-of-looming-deficits-university-of-northern-colorados-credit-rating-downgraded/
