Student fees, room-and-board costs to increase as University of Wisconsin regents approve new budget Average overall cost of attendance up by 1% - Christina Lorey, Channel 3000
The University of Wisconsin system regents are set to approve a new budget Friday that will increase fees for students at U-W schools. The spending plan calls for raising student fees at four-year schools and also raising room-and-board costs, too. Once approved, the spending plan raises student fees at four-year schools by an average of $33/student. Room-and-board increases an average of $118/year, or 1.6 percent. Rate changes range from $0 to $298, with the $298 at UW-Eau Claire (a 3.8 percent increase), largely due to new and renovated residence halls.
