U of L budget gets initial approval; SACS concerned about liquidity - Chris Larson, Louisville Business First

Overall, the university's budget revenue is expected to contract by about 1.3 percent from 2017's budgeted revenue of $1.231 billion, or $16 million. Last year, U of L faced a $48.5 million reduction in total revenue, which prompted a number of belt-tightening measures. But the need for cutting expenses continues. The university is requiring each of the university's units to cut spending by about 5 percent.
