UNC trustees approve budget featuring $4.5 million deficit - Tommy Wood, Greeley Tribune

The University of Northern Colorado's trustees approved a $197.9 million budget for the 2018-19 fiscal year Friday morning that solidified much of what university officials have discussed in preceding months: a nearly $600 increase in cost of attendance for undergrad students and numerous short-term spending cuts to reduce UNC's deficit. That deficit is down to $4.5 million from an originally projected $9.2 million thanks to a host of temporary cost-saving measures, the most drastic of which is a mandatory 60-day hold on filling any new positions with salaries greater than $30,000. https://www.greeleytribune.com/news/unc-trustees-honor-outgoing-president-kay-norton-approve-budget-featuring-4-5-million-deficit/
