C-GCC costs spike as enrollment drops - Carly Miller, Columbia-Greene Media
Columbia and Greene counties are facing higher expenses for Columbia-Greene Community College’s proposed $17.1 million operating budget for 2018-19 as the school’s enrollment continues to decline. Each county pays a portion of the college’s operating budget based on student enrollment from each county, Greene County Administrator Shaun Groden said. If both counties approve the budget, Greene County’s sponsor share would increase by $467,104, to a total of $3.1 million, and Columbia County’s share could increase by $301,051 to a total of $3.3 million. The Twin Counties’ portions account for 37.5 percent of the total college budget.
