The Heartland Community College board of trustees approved a tentative fiscal 2019 budget last week with a projected operational deficit of about $260,000 — the first such deficit in the school's history. Combined operating revenues for FY 2019 will total $30.42 million, according to material presented at the meeting. Total operating expenditures in the tentative budget are $30.68 million. The final budget will be presented in September, after fall enrollment is known. https://www.pantagraph.com/news/local/education/heartland-board-approves-first-budget-with-deficit/article_a0c39e6e-4dca-5637-b1ba-749dc4cd88b1.html
