University of Montana restructuring staff with goal of improving services for students - KEILA SZPALLER , Missoulian

Earlier cutbacks to staff positions have the largest college at the University of Montana forging a new structure to boost "front line" administration and fill other gaps. UM officials said the restructure will increase the number of staff at the College of Humanities and Sciences and improve student access to administrative support and academic advising. "To serve students better, we absolutely had to take some action," Dean Chris Comer said last week. However, managers tapped the brakes on changes after hearing frustrations from staff. Staff leader Maria Mangold said employees had concerns the timeline was rushed and the application process was cumbersome. https://missoulian.com/news/local/university-of-montana-restructuring-staff-with-goal-of-improving-services/article_37c575ee-ae15-585a-80af-dbb93c3f4371.html
