COCC enrollment drops for sixth straight year - Jackson Hogan, the Bulletin
Enrollment at Central Oregon Community College dropped for the sixth year in a row, but campus officials do not anticipate any negative fallout from the low student numbers, largely because the Bend college is expected to collect more than $1 million more in property tax revenue than it did last year. The enrollment drop is expected, said COCC Chief Financial Officer David Dona. Community college enrollment typically rises during recessions when people need job training and bottoms out when the economy is booming, which is the case in Central Oregon, he said.
