Centenary University has announced the resignation of its president, David Haney, as the school continues to dig out of financial troubles including an estimated $5 million cash deficit. Haney, who assumed the presidency in July 2016, will step down on June 30. Shortly after his arrival at the school's main campus in Hackettstown, Haney said he discovered serious financial issues, in part created by years of Centenary spending down its cash reserves.
