UVM reduces scholarships in cross-country, track and swimming - Alex Abrami, Burlington Free Press

Department-wide budget cuts in University of Vermont athletics will have financial aid impact on three programs in the next academic year. UVM will reduce the number of scholarships offered in men's and women's track and field and cross-country running and women's swimming and diving, athletic director Jeff Schulman confirmed Friday afternoon. The savings from the elimination of 3.5 total scholarships over the two sports is approximately $180,000, Schulman said. Cross-country and track and field are considered one program for awarding scholarships.
