Stokes gets red card for sports cuts - GREG WILLIAMS, ABQ Journal

UNM President Garnett Stokes said in Sunday’s Journal that, aside from the outrage over the cutting of athletics teams, her reception in our state has been “nothing but warm.” That statement has a strong “other than that, Mrs. Lincoln” vibe to it. Sure, that decision brought hundreds of protesters to regents’ meetings, drove a wedge between UNM and both the new governor and the Legislature, and was handled in such a sloppy and non-transparent manner that the state Attorney General found UNM in violation of the Open Meetings Act. But if you put all that aside, everything was apparently fine. https://www.abqjournal.com/1273066/stokes-gets-red-card-for-sports-cuts.html
